Pear Shape Semi-Mount Diamond Engagement Ring

A pear shape center setting opens at the heart of this semi-mount engagement ring, drawn for a stone of 0.85 Ctw to 1.20 Ctw and proportioned so the point sits cleanly along the finger. Within the band, 6 straight baguette diamonds carrying weight 1/5 Ctw are flush set, their edges level with the surface. Beyond them, 12 round cut diamonds carrying weight 1/20 Ctw are prong set in a delicate line that narrows toward the back. Rose and white gold meet across the 14 karat mounting, the white gold finished in rhodium. The narrowing of the shoulders is what gives a pear ring its balance, drawing the eye forward to the point rather than letting the band compete with it.
