The pear turns a ring into something with direction, and this semi-mount engagement ring is built around that, its open center setting prepared for a stone of 1.65 Ctw to 2.35 Ctw. Along the shoulders and gallery, 17 round cut diamonds are prong set in a graduated line that tapers toward the back of the band, keeping the visual weight forward where the center stone will sit. Yellow and white gold are combined across the 14 karat mounting, with a rhodium finish applied to the white gold for a brighter, cleaner surface. The pear rewards careful mounting, since its point is both its signature and its most vulnerable edge, and the proportions here are drawn with that balance in mind. Everything waits on the stone. The ring is completed with a total weight of 1/10 Ctw.
